Swedish House Mafia Split Up – Last Ibiza Season in 2012

Swedish House Mafia have announced they have split up, meaning that this season at Ushuaia will be the last time you can check them out on the white isle. The news was announced via their official website and they will be adding an additional date likely to be in the US for their official last event some time in November.

Cream Ibiza at Radio 1 Weekend 2012

Cream Ibiza will be taking over Privilege again this year for their legendary Radio 1 weekend party taking place on Saturday 4th August 2012.

The line up is huge beyond belief, with easily around 15 artists performing on the night including Chase & Status (DJ Set), Sebastian Ingrosso, Alesso, Pete Tong, Benny Benassi, Sub Focus (DJ Set), Annie Mac, Zane Lowe, Jaguar Skills, Friction, Mistajam, Redlight, Toddla T, Feed Me, Eats Everything, Charlie Sloth and Gareth Wyn – we did say it was huge!

BBC Radio 1 will be broadcasting highlghts from this massive night in a special 5 hour Ibiza extended Essential mix on Friday 11th August 1am -6am.

This event is expected to sell out so you can grab tickets in advance via Ibiza Spotlight.

Avicii Ushuaia Ibiza Sunday Residency Official Confirmed

Ushuaia Ibiza have finally confirmed Avicii’s sunday residency – the first time Avicii has his own residency in Ibiza, starting with the Ibiza season 2012. Expect some huge guest appearances for this new residency that kicks off on Sunday 15th July all the way through to Sunday 26th August – this new Avicii Ibiza night should be bringing another strong event to Ushuaia with David Guetta, Swedish House Mafia all confirmed for Ushuaia this season. This is the biggest Ushuaia have had to date, and is a far cry from the days of 2010 when it was just a small beach bar in Ibiza!

Richie Hawtin ‘Enter’ Space Ibiza 2012

Space Ibiza have now officially confirmed Richie Hawtin will be presenting a brand new night called Enter at Space Ibiza, every Thursday for twelve weeks. Some of the facts coming out of the camp via Ibiza Spotlight are:

- ENTER. will take place every Thursday from 5th July to 20th September
- ENTER. will be promoted by Hawtin and his M-NUS team in collaboration with Space.
- ENTER.Sake will see the launch of the island’s first dedicated Sake bar.
- ENTER.Kehakuma will see Hawtin collaborate with Space’s underground night. (Kehakuma Opening Party will be some spectacle!).
- Kehakuma will continue in its own right before and after ENTER.’s 12 dates.
- ENTER. pre-party will take place weekly at Space from 10pm with big guests.

This means expect some of the biggest names in Space’s history descend upon the world’s number one club for Richie Hawtin in Ibiza 2012.

Armin Van Buuren Ibiza Change for 2012

It’s crazy to think that the once world’s number 1 DJ for three years in a row, has moved between three venues in the last three years for the Ibiza 2012 season. This season will be the season to see if Armin can take over from Tiesto and fill the huge Privilege Ibiza club, as Tiesto makes way for him with his new residency at Pacha Ibiza. It’s clear to see that Armin is still the big name that everybody raves about – he draws in huge numbers around the globe but has suffered in Ibiza simply because he has not been able to hold down a venue to create some consistency with regular Ibiza goers; you simply don’t know which venue he will be playing at next.

Although house is a prominent sound in Ibiza and trance may not be as popular as it once was, Armin has the chance to put on a real show this year in the 10,000 capacity arena, and the A State Of Trance brand name can make a huge difference for him in Ibiza 2012 as he searches for that ultimate venue to put himself back on the Ibiza map and challenging for capacity numbers on Mondays, Ibiza’s most competitive night.

Swedish House Mafia now at Privilege Ibiza (Unconfirmed)

***on the 1st May Axwell (one-third of the Swedes) confirmed they will be performing every Wednesday at Ushuaia Ibiza and not at Privilege as expected.***

After many rumours, Swedish House Mafia have decided to take their extremely popular Ibiza party to Ushuaia Ibiza, kicking off with the Swedish House Mafia Opening Party on Wednesday 4th July and the Swedish House Mafia Closing Party on August 29th.

Controversially this hasn’t been officially confirmed by Swedish House Mafia as an opening party themselves, however, Privilege is seemingly the only venue that could fit exactly what Swedish House Mafia have in mind, and what we have heard it is going to be huge!

Expect the guys to be alongside some of the biggest names in dance music from across the globe to join them – swapping the glamour of Pacha for the huge indoor space of Privilege.

Ibiza 2012 will have ibiza club tickets for the upcoming Swedish House Mafia events at Privilege and will reveal the lineups as soon as we have more news!

Space Ibiza Opening Party 2012 Announced

Space Ibiza have announced their opening and what is normally seen as the official start to the season for 2012. The party will take place on the 27th May 2012, and expect a crazy party as usual from the club. From the official press release:

Our feet are still dancing to the sound of the music of this past summer 2011 and the spectacular Space Closing fiesta still remains in our retinas, a party where we danced and enjoyed saying goodbye to an unforgettable season, but hey!… before we can notice time we will be celebrating again the next Opening fiesta for this coming summer 2012.
Space Ibiza will be opening doors again on Sunday 27th May to celebrate what without any doubts will be the summer of our lives. And not because we believe that the Mayas are right when they say this is the last year on earth, but because we are preparing a great season full of surprises and good music, and because we will excelled ourselves one year more for the confidence of our friends and fans, offering always the best of the best, night after night.
